this shelf.
Mower blade mounts come round and shaped. A round bore is driven by friction
under the clamping washer; a star or keyed hole is driven by its shape. They are
not interchangeable, they look similar in a photograph, and a buyer who does
not know the difference discovers it with the machine already on its side.
Telling people what a part will not fit is a seller reducing its own sales
and its own returns, and it is rare enough to lead a page with.

springs, giving better aeration. A complete set: the scarifier bar including
adapter rings and four spare springs, ready to use. Optimal working width
41 cm, suitable for mowers from 41 cm, and the maker states it is also ideal on
45 cm or 53 cm machines for better engine relief. For petrol mowers:
recommended for machines with high torque, not suitable for electric mowers or
ride-on mowers.
Two more honest restrictions
Not for electric mowers. Pulling a full width of sprung tines through turf
is a heavy continuous load, quite unlike cutting grass. A mains or cordless
machine will bog, overheat or simply stop.
Not for ride-ons. Different mount, different speeds, different assumptions.

The narrow bar on a wide deck
“Ideal also at 45 cm or 53 cm for better engine relief.”
That is a genuinely good suggestion and it goes against the seller’s interest
in sounding capable. A 41 cm bar under a 53 cm deck covers less per pass and
asks much less of the engine, which on a conversion — where the machine was
never designed for this load — is the difference between an afternoon’s work
and a repair.
Four spare springs
The double springs are the wearing part and the kit includes replacements.
On a part sold as a complete set, supplying the consumable with it is the
difference between a kit and a bar.
