Historical data can be queried for up to six months, giving daily, weekly and monthly water consumption and duration. Both the exact time and the water volume can be set for regular, quantitative watering. The listing states it requires a Zigbee 3.0 hub, names the compatible models from the same maker, and repeats the requirement in its final line.
Every other timer on this shelf answers the question “for how long?”. This one answers “how much?”.
That is the better question. A hose running for ten minutes delivers a different quantity depending on the pressure at the tap, what else is running in the house, and how long the hose is. A valve that measures flow and stops at a volume gives the same answer every day.

Setting a volume rather than a duration — twenty litres rather than ten minutes. It is the more meaningful instruction, because what a hose delivers in ten minutes depends on pressure, and pressure varies with what else in the street is running.
Yes. Zigbee is a mesh protocol and the device does not speak to your router directly. The listing names the compatible hubs from the same maker, and without one the valve cannot be controlled at all.
