What a tap adapter is for
The most common failure on this shelf is buying the wrong half of the
connection.
A tap adapter screws onto the spout of an outdoor tap and presents a
standard nose that a click connector snaps onto. It is threaded.
A hose connector joins a hose to that nose, or to a gun, or to another
hose. It is not threaded; it clicks.
Most gardens need both, and a set of hose connectors on its own leaves the tap
unusable.
This product is the first kind, three of them.
Two-in-one, and why it matters
Outdoor taps come in two common thread sizes, 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch, and
nobody knows which one they have without either measuring it or unscrewing
something.
A two-in-one adapter fits both — normally through a removable insert or a
stepped thread — so the purchase does not depend on a measurement made
beforehand.
That is genuinely useful, and it is why this design has largely replaced
single-size adapters on garden shelves.
Three of them
Roughly 1.66 € per piece at the German price recorded here.
For comparison, the two large plastic sets on this shelf work out at about
0.79 € and 0.75 € per piece, and a three-piece branded coupling set at about
3.25 €.
Three is also a sensible household number: an outside tap, a tap in a garage or
cellar, and a spare, because tap adapters are the fitting that gets left behind
on a tap when you move a hose.
The material, which is never stated
Five feature lines.
One of them is entirely about the material, and it says the adapters are made
of high-quality, resistant material, that this material resists wear,
corrosion and environmental influences, and that this ensures a long service
life.
It does not say what it is.
That is not a small omission on this particular shelf, where two products are
brass, one is copper, and the plastic ones are the cheap ones. Brass and
plastic behave completely differently on a tap left outdoors for ten winters,
and the listing has used a whole paragraph to avoid choosing.
The fifth line
The listing’s final feature is a thank-you note: thanks for choosing the
product, pride in offering it, an offer of customer service, and good wishes
for the gardening.
It is reported here because it is one of the five things the manufacturer chose
to publish about the product, and because a shelf where one listing publishes
nothing at all and another publishes a thank-you is worth describing
accurately.
The compatibility claim
The title and the first feature line both say the adapters are made
specifically for a well-known garden fitting brand’s products.
That brand’s click system is the de facto standard across most of this market,
and third-party fittings to it are ordinary and generally work.
It is still a claim by a third party about somebody else’s system, and this
page reports it as that rather than as a certification.

More than 1.6× the cheapest country at the French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores; a gap of that size normally means forwarded stock rather than a seller on the ground, so the spread above leaves it out.
