Two ways of putting water on the ground

GRÜNTEK is on two water shelves here, and between them they answer the same question two different ways.

The oscillating sprinkler is the high-pressure answer: a bar of nozzles sweeping a rectangle, which needs real pressure to project a fan across its full width. Under-pressurised, it waters a narrow strip close to the unit and nothing at the ends — which is the commonest complaint about that whole shelf and is a supply problem rather than a product one.

The soaker hose is the low-pressure answer: a porous line that weeps along its length, works on gravity from a water butt, and is the method that actually suits a rain barrel. Over-pressurise it and it leaks at the fittings rather than working better.

Anyone reading both pages will find the distinction stated on each: what a watering method needs before it does anything at all. The coverage figure on the sprinkler was obtained at a pressure, and this site prints the pressure where the maker names one.
