What the maker prints on its own page
Universally compatible with all robot manufacturers, and then eleven brands are
named individually.
Better conductivity: high-quality, additionally tinned conductors, stated to be
100 per cent compatible with the original wire. Longer life: extra
weather-resistant insulation, 2.7 mm, which the maker states can be combined
without problems with other gauges. On a practical cable reel for easy
unspooling without tangling. The maker also sells matching fixing hooks and
cable connectors, separately or as a set. Supplied on a reel from 25 m; lengths
up to 24 m work as a coil without tangling.
Eleven brands
The most specific fit list on this shelf, and worth noting because boundary
wire is one of the few genuinely universal things in this niche.
A boundary loop carries a signal generated by the base station. Almost any
insulated wire of about the right gauge will carry it, which is why the
compatibility lists here are long and why they are mostly true.
What varies is the conductor’s resistance over a long run and the insulation’s
survival in the ground.
“Can be combined with other gauges”
An unusually direct statement and a useful one.
Nobody replaces a whole boundary loop when a section fails. They splice in a
new length, and the new length is whatever is available — which is very often
a different gauge or a different conductor material from the original.
Electrically, a few metres of something different inside a long loop changes
very little. The listing saying so saves a buyer worrying about the wrong
thing.
The right thing to worry about is the joint.

A long length coiled without a spool is a tangle and an afternoon. Saying where
the boundary is means a buyer knows which they are getting.
What is missing, here and everywhere
A resistance per metre, and a maximum loop length. On a component whose only
job is to carry a signal around a perimeter, nobody on this shelf publishes
either.
